Amy Benton

Amy Benton is the co-owner of Prime Performance LLC.

Amy Benton is the co-owner of Prime Performance LLC. As a former dancer and performer of over 20 years, she understands the intricate needs of performers. She provides the highest level of physical therapy and performance training to athletes and dancers looking to reach their goals in the studio, on stage, and in competition. Amy has been a Physical Therapist for over 13 years, she is a Certified Manual Physical Therapist (CMPT),  Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and a dance rehabilitation expert. 

Amy provides hands on Physical Therapy treatment, injury prevention, metabolic testing, and performance coaching to athletes and performing artists. Amy created and conducts dance specific, cross-training workshops and educational seminars. These are geared towards helping dancers recover from injury, build a better base of strength, reduce risk factors for injuries, learn new techniques for safe flexibility, and improve overall performance. She also provides Physical Therapy and coaching services backstage to performers touring on Broadway, and companies performing in the Portland, OR area. 

Outside Prime Performance, Amy is the Physical Therapist for The Portland Ballet, and serves on their Board of Directors. She is a health care provider featured on the Dance Wire health care network, and an active member of the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science (IADMS).

In her free time, Amy enjoys dancing, rock climbing, aerial acrobatics, Yoga, running, lifting weights, and traveling with her husband, son and daughter.

Matthew Marino is the founder and co-owner of Prime Performance LLC. Matthew is a passionate practitioner dedicated to helping people access and leverage cutting edge technology, science, and data driven solutions and programs to optimize performance, prevent injuries, and return to work, sports and life. 

Matthew has been a trainer and coach for over 20 years, beginning his career on the east coast before relocating to Portland, Oregon in 2007. He has been a Physical Therapist for over 15 years, practicing in sports, orthopedic, industrial, neurological, and long-term acute care settings. He is an expert in metabolic analysis, providing resting metabolic rate (RMR), graded exercise, maximal oxygen consumption (VO2 max), 5-1-5, interval, and spirometry testing to deliver science based respiratory training and strength and conditioning programs. He is also an internationally recognized expert in ergonomics, specializing in the design, testing, utilization, and implementation of wearable technology, exoskeletons and exosuits in clinical and workplace environments. 

Outside Prime Performance, Matthew is a founding partner of the ASTM International Exo Technology Center of Excellence, dedicated to building, connecting, and energizing exo technology research, standards, and applications for the good of humanity.

Matthew grew up as an athlete playing numerous team and individual sports. He is a member of the Pacific Northwest Search and Rescue Team. When he’s not working or volunteering, he can be found seeking adventure outdoors, climbing, running, hiking, biking, paddling, skateboarding, snowboarding, camping, and enjoying life with his beautiful wife, two awesome kids, and phenomenal friends.
